Great Old Potato Chips Commercials - Volume 2

It's time for more old potato chips commercials - this time, featuring some of your favorite celebrities, reality TV stars, and an anthropomorphic potato chip. Country Club Potato Chips (1977-78) [youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-6a6Vz1HjI&w=400]

Before we get to the talking chip, I encourage you to search "country club potato chips" in a Google search. The seventh entry on is just a bunch of dinner menus from country clubs. Like this one. Or this one.

OK - the talking chip. Too shiny. Is that a British accent? I get the bow tie, but why the eyebrows? And how did the chip get so small in the last scene in the kitchen?

This chip is comfortably the second creepiest actor in this vignette. Ruffles Bowling Alley (1981) [youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KNTfB5ZEpD8&w=400]

Hey, it's the mom from Home Improvement! And another bevy of creepy guys in a potato chips commercial. I never would've found any subtext or innuendo in a line like "Champ, have any Ruffles to spare," but that guy did the trick.

So the production team sprung for the shirts and the sound effects, but no balls or pins? Pringles Butter 'N Herbs (1985) [youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKZekAcRM1s&w=400]

This is a favorite of mine because it's in the golden years of the Pringles logo. A bevy of temporary stars in this one, like Can't Stop the Music and Chips star Bruce Jenner, Rosey Grier, Gary Carter, and Calvert DeForest.
