Seeking Expertise on Geiser's Potato Chips

Part of the mission of Potato Chip World is to preserve the history of potato chips, specifically in the United States.

With that being said, I'm on a quest to find experts on extinct regional potato chips brands. I love potato chips because of the regionality that comes with the brands. You could go to any state in the union, and they'll have their own unique brands.

I grew up in Southeastern Wisconsin. Granted, there were other local brands as well. Old Dutch, Barrel o' Fun, and Jay's come to mind. But most of these are still in existence. I'd like to start with a brand called Geiser's. Geiser's is so intriguing because they're no longer in existence to my knowledge. Little exists on the world wide web about the brand, either.

The only thing I remember about the brand was the jingle (be wiser, buy Geiser's). We watched a show called "The Bowling Game" on Super 18 (a local UHF station), and I bet Geiser's advertised heavily on that show.

By my estimates, they must have went out of business sometime in the 1990's. I don't ever recall eating the chips, I just remember the jingle and the branding. Plus, the absence of any search results tell me that they disappeared before companies started publishing websites and contact information online.

If there are any potato chips experts out there with more knowledge on Geiser's, please email chip@potatochipworld.com. I'd love to share your stories on the site.

Over time I'd like to create a series of posts on brands that no longer exist.
